Our Story
Highgate Children’s Preparatory is a premier early-years and primary school located in the heart of Kajiado County, Kenya. Established to meet the growing need for high-quality foundational education in the region, our school provides a safe, nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to explore, inquire, and grow. With thoughtfully designed learning spaces and a community-focused approach, we prepare our learners for academic success and for active, responsible citizenship.
Our academic programme follows the Kenyan Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), ensuring that teaching is learner-centered, practical, and focused on developing essential life skills. Lessons are designed to build competencies in critical thinking, communication, creativity, and problem-solving while grounding students in literacy, numeracy, and STEM fundamentals. We blend classroom instruction with hands-on experiences, outdoor learning and project-based activities to make learning meaningful and relevant to each child’s context.
At Highgate, our team of qualified, passionate educators is committed to individualized attention and continuous professional growth. Teachers employ modern pedagogical practices, regular assessment for learning, and close partnerships with parents to monitor progress and support each child’s unique development. Pastoral care is central to our ethos: we foster resilience, emotional intelligence, and respect—values that underpin a positive school culture and strong student wellbeing.
We are proud to be an active part of the Kajiado community, drawing on local heritage and the surrounding environment to enrich our curriculum. Extra-curricular programmes in arts, sports and community service complement academic learning, giving students opportunities to discover talents and build confidence. At Highgate Children’s Preparatory, we are dedicated to shaping confident, curious and compassionate learners who are well-equipped to thrive in a changing world.
